Music and acting: these are the passions that unite our protagonists, always in search of a better life.
Balkan Dreams: A Life at the Rhythm of 9/16 is a documentary that, over the course of 5 years of filming, gives a face to otherwise anonymous characters in a multi-ethnic Berlin.
To the rhythm of Balkan sounds, at times melancholic and melodic, at others wild and seductive, we experience with the protagonists their stories of dreams, Roma traditions, war, and love. And through them, we gain a glimpse of the young "Yugoslav" society in Germany, 50 years after the labor contracts signed between the German government and Tito's former Yugoslavia and 20 years after the end of the last Balkan war.
