«Porpora Marcasciano is officially one of the most important figures in the defense of the rights of transgender people.
It was therefore essential to pay attention to her and to tell the story of the trans reality in all its facets through her eyes.
Ban on Transit focuses on a more intimate aspect of Porpora's life and the discrimination that a transgender person faces throughout their lives.
The archival footage provided by the protagonist allowed for a magical blend of archive footage and live footage. For this reason, in a certain sense, I like to imagine Porpora as an unwitting "videographer," whose footage waited all these years before coming together in a single work.
A work that aims to address the topic of trans identity from a non-sensationalistic perspective, free from exaggeration, feigned compassion, or news-based cynicism.
I approached the filming and the creative process more generally believing in the simplicity and power of Porpora's testimony and story. A fabulous person, who knew how to shoulder, with joy and enjoyment, the responsibility of a collective story.

No passing It is a study of the life and history of Porpora Marcasciano, produced in preparation for a larger documentary project starring her, scheduled for release in 2021. In particular, through Porpora's testimony and the extensive archive material relating to her, the short highlights a history of denied rights and claims of identity and politics.
These very needs earned the project selection and support from the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual of the MiBACT as part of the call for proposals "Non-Violence: the strongest slap 2019".
Furthermore, the project became study material on the figure and political history of Porpora Marcasciano within the course Geographies of R/Existence, organized at Colby College in Maine, USA by Professor Danila Cannamela.
