…And trees start to scream
Introduction
The film, part of the collective project Walls and Borders, aims to describe some aspects of the generational wall through the cut-up technique.
Synopsis
The feelings that "adults" have of the younger generations and their awkward desire to understand their ideas.
Twenty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, eighty-three directors tell, through seventy short episodes, the stories of the walls and geographical, physical and mental borders that mark the societies in which we live, in a kaleidoscope of points of view and expressive approaches, from documentary to fiction, from video art to animation.
Walls and Borders It is a collective concept film in favor of International Help Onlus, Created by Armando Ceste e Claudio Paletto, two authors who have always linked their artistic production to social commitment.
There are two aspects that make this initiative absolutely unique.
The first is the solidarity intent underlying the entire operation: all the proceeds from the film, to which the authors have contributed free of charge, will go to support humanitarian interventions of International Help Onlus, an association that operates in the most disadvantaged areas of the world (www.internationalhelp.it).
The second lies in the project's cultural significance: in a time of ethical, economic, and social crisis like the one we are experiencing, it is important that artists feel the need to express themselves to raise awareness among viewers of the current state of affairs.
Monika Crha is of Croatian origin and was born in Italy. She lived in Egypt, Libya, and Russia, eventually settling in Milan, where she created marble installations and sculptures, and organized several exhibitions.
In contact with the musical environment (rock and indie) she worked as a photographer (concerts and backstage).
Having moved to Turin two years ago, in collaboration with the Film Production Cooperative FILMROUGE arl, of which she is a member, she began preparing two documentaries together with writing screenplays for short films and for the theatre.
He made his directorial debut with And the trees begin to scream within the collective film Walls and Borders, present at the 27th Turin Film Festival (2009).
