DIRECTOR'S NOTES 

I present this film to all the oppressed women of the world. Hoping for the day when women's oppression ends worldwide.

Unfortunately, the film is banned in Iran and the government has banned its screening in cinemas.

I don't know what Iranian audiences think of the film. It was screened outside Iran, and the reaction to the film was great, both for the characters and the story. I think they identified more with Golnesa. As the film's director, I like both characters.

The biggest problem in making the film was financial support. We are independent filmmakers and receive no funding from the country. Our next project is about Kolbars, the carriers that transport goods to the borders of Kurdistan. But this project was put on hold for financial reasons.

I hope all independent filmmakers can turn their ideas into films, because the greatest directors are among independent filmmakers. I also hope no one has to leave their country to immigrate to other countries. I hope attention is paid to women's rights in Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
