DIRECTOR'S NOTES
The project stems from a personal experience and a desire to explore trauma not only as an individual experience, but as a phenomenon that takes root in the psyche, the body, and one's relationship with the world, distorting the perception of reality like a wave spreading through time and the inner space of those who experience it. With an intimate and sensorial aesthetic, in which the material world intertwines with the stuff of dreams, I aim to portray a journey of fragments, returns, losses, and insights, in which the body becomes a living memory and a silent guide.
Through Jula's journey, the film probes a deeper, more collective existential crisis: that of modern humankind, disconnected from nature and its inner dimension.
In a time marked by war, climate uncertainty, and collective fears, the act of healing oneself becomes revolutionary. The film carries a message of hope and regeneration.
It is an invitation to reconnect with what deeply binds us: community, the body, the earth, the mystery.
The volcano is the "zone", a point of contact with other dimensions, a place where the repressed resurfaces and consciousness opens to the unknown.
