The stories of women who have suffered violence, the voices of experts, are mixed with a persistent sequence of images that convey a sense of claustrophobia, of unresolved unease, the same sensations experienced by those who suffer violence.
Overexposed bodies and faces highlight the loss of identity experienced by women who have suffered violence.
But violence is a cultural and social problem, and only a different relationship between men and women, in a healthy society, can bring about a difference.
The focus is therefore shifted to a broader problem: we live in a violent society and violence permeates every aspect of our lives, where violence against women is only the latest link in a chain that affects the most vulnerable gender—vulnerable because it has always been considered the one capable of absorbing every trauma, of soothing and caring for everyone.
The film tells a story for which we are all responsible, and it tells it through emotionally charged images, even more than through stories.
Thanks to the collaboration of the Cerchi d'acqua Association of Milan and the Women's Helpline of Como, it was possible to connect with women who had suffered violence and collect their testimonies.
