What was supposed to be a day of freedom turns into a “little vacation” – as she herself calls it in the letter she sends home.
Mimmo, her husband, is beside himself. He discovers that one of his plumber employees, Costantino, is an avid reader of detective novels and sends him to Venice to search for his wife, whose address he has no contact information for.
Meanwhile, Rosalba has started a new life. She's found a job with an old anarchist florist, lives with Fernando, an enigmatic waiter of Icelandic origins with a passion for Orlando Furioso, and has become close friends with Grazia, her neighbor, a beautician and holistic masseuse.
Encouraged by Fernando, Rosalba has also taken up playing the accordion, her old passion. So, when Costantino, the plumber-detective, after various adventures, manages to find her, he too will become entangled in something he hadn't foreseen...
