The bravest ones went to the mountains, reaching the heart of the Himalayas, all the way to Tibet.
In July 1945 a team climbed an unnamed peak (6163 m) and named it Top of ItalyIn October of the same year, a patrol of three officers reached Lake Tso Moriri, in south-eastern Ladakh (Indian Tibet), after a 550 km march at altitudes between 4 and 6 thousand metres.
They were days of freedom, of climbing, of exploration, which ended when the prisoners returned behind the fences of Yol.
In the autumn of 2003 the director followed in their footsteps, filming places and encounters: a long journey from Delhi to Yol, to Ladakh, to Lake Moriri on the border of Tibet, with the writer Carlo Grande, author of the novel The Wild Ride (Ponte alle Grazie – 2004, TEA – 2009).
