The Lost Kids of Kalahari A film byNiccolò Bruna

Gochas, Namibia. Flora and the Nama kids are striving to make their own life within a violent environment. Under a continuous risk of abuse and deprivation, they learn quickly how to grow and remain attached to their only hope, the school.

Namibia is considered one of Africa’s wealthiest country, however behind an illusionary picture the highest inequality rate of Africa lies here. Alcohol abuse and a 15% AIDs rate – not included among tourist brochures- leave orphaned 20% of children, mainly living in rural areas like Gochas. In this village of the Harap region, Flora and other kids of the Nama tribe are constantly striving to make their own life within a violent environment. Under a continuous risk of abuse and deprivation, they learn quickly how to grow and remain attached to their only hope, the school.

This is their story.
