These days there is a lot of talk about Ventotene, the small island in the Lazio archipelago which was a prison for opponents of the fascist regime and where in August 1941 a document was drawn up, signed by Altiero Spinelli, Ernesto Rossi ed Eugenio Colornthe text "FOR A FREE AND UNITED EUROPE – Draft Manifesto”, commonly known today as Manifesto of Ventotene, in which many of the ideas underlying what was later to become the European Community were outlined.

And it is precisely on Ventotene and its history of confinement and internationalism that the directors Claudio Di Mambro, Luca Mandrile and Umberto Migliaccio (TodoModo Productions) have decided to commit themselves with their new documentary project entitled A Freedom Route, documentary that Streeen-Movie decided to produce together with the association Roads in history and which has already received support from Film Commission Torino Piemontee and of the Italian Association of Italian Combatants and Volunteers in Spain (Aicvas).

"Our Island Is the Whole World" is a historical documentary that narrates, through biographical narratives, the personal and political journey of several anti-fascist fighters in Spain. The journey unfolds through the places where the events unfolded, centered around the political exile colony of Ventotene, a crucial crossroads in the events that were crucial to the Resistance and the birth of the idea of ​​Europe.
