Di Lello

Born in Hamilton, Canada, and raised in Vevey, in the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland, she is a French teacher in secondary school, a freelance journalist, a documentary filmmaker, and an organizer of cultural events.
Since 2006, she has chaired the John Fante Festival "My Father's God," an event she conceived in collaboration with the municipal administration of Torricella Peligna (Province of Chieti). Raised in a family of immigrants, she was drawn to the study of Italian emigration at an early age and developed a deep interest in the work of John Fante.
In 2003, he made the documentary "John Fante. Profile of a Writer", later published by Fazi Editore.
He also directed the documentary "A Dream In The Purple Sea. Pascal D'Angelo," the short film "The Ballad of the Shoemaker," and "The Indiscreet Racism of Americans. Meeting with Noam Chomsky."
In 2021, he edited the collection of essays "Dalla parte di John Fante," published by Carocci Editore, together with emigration historian Toni Ricciardi.
In collaboration with the scholar Giuseppe Sommario, he created the Premio Italia Radici nel Mondo, a literary competition aimed at Italian writers or writers of Italian descent, and in 2024, he edited the anthology "Sconfinamenti" (Ianieri Editori).
She is a member of the L&gend. Literature & Gender Identity research group, affiliated with the University of Chieti-Pescara "G. d'Annunzio".
