Bio
Lucia Magnifico (Isernia, 1993) is a director of documentaries and video art works.
His artistic and anthropological training has focused on difficult contexts, challenging himself to represent suffering without pornography and spectacularization. In his work, the dirtiness and sharp cuts are a stylistic signature that contrasts with the delicate nature of the themes.
She graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts (Milan) with "Hawaii Point," filmed in the informal refugee camp "La Jungle" in Calais, France. She graduated in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology from the University of Bologna with "Escape Point," a Visual Anthropology project along the Balkan Route.
He is currently studying Visual Arts and Expanded Cinema at IUAV (Venice). He is working on the independent distribution of his first feature film “Cobra” which received a special mention at the Torino Underground Cinefest (2025).
He has received awards and participations such as: Talent Video Award (Careof, Mibact) (MI), Fid Marseille, Human Rights Nights festival Cineteca di Bologna (BO), Biografilm (BO), MedFilmFestival (RM), Terra di tutti FilmFestival (BO).
He is now distributing the short film “Rifrazioni”, made with archive materials (VHS, super8) and is working on the production of Cattività, a multimedia spatial installation.
