Bio

Born in Batman (Northern Kurdistan, 'Turkish' Kurdistan), he is a journalist, filmmaker, and photographer. He worked for six years at the Human Rights Association (IHD) and covered the war in Rojava as a journalist and filmmaker, first during the battle for the liberation of Serêkaniyê (2013) and then Kobane (2014). He is the author of a book of photographs published in three languages, entitled Em Ên Wenda (We, the Disappeared), featuring 100 stories and as many photos of those disappeared at the hands of the state. He is the author of several documentaries:

Faîlî Dewlet (The State is the Author) - tells the story of citizens killed by the Turkish government in the Cizre region between 1990 and 1995.
- Jiyanên Bêdeng (Silent Lives) - on the victims of Turkish state mines in Kurdistan.
- Berxwedana 33 Salan-Dayika Berfo (33 Years of Resistance - Dayika Berfo) - the story of 105-year-old Mother Berfo and her tireless quest to uncover the truth about her son's disappearance after the military coup of September 12, 1980.
- Nûjîn (New Life) – behind the scenes of the Kurdish resistance during the ISIS siege of the city of Kobane in 2014.
