Bio
Yalmar Destefanis was born in Casale Monferrato in 1996.
In 2016, he attended L'AURA Film School in Ostana, directed by G. Diritti and F. Valla. Since 2018, he has collaborated with Turin-based production companies as a cameraman, editor, and post-production manager for television, advertising, and film video assets, and as an assistant director on documentaries.
Since 2019, he has co-directed short film projects (primarily documentaries). One of these won the 2019 Piemonte Documenteur FilmFest.
Together with Silvia “Papa” Giachello he made an authorial short film on Piedmontese dance and cultural heritage, promoted by PdV and FCTP (Di due nature), and a documentary short film on the bansuri, a flute from the classical Indian tradition, and contact with nature (Lo Spirito del Bamboo).
They are currently collaborating on new projects that explore the themes of life choices, elective and artistic communities, music and the arts as tools for sharing, growth and personal transformation, or a spiritual journey.
