Synopsis
It is well known that since the 80s Turin has represented a crucial and important laboratory of ideas and talent for independent and auteur cinema, both Italian and international, in many cases already the subject of reflections and retrospectives.
Much less studied, so far, is the new generation of filmmakers, not only in terms of age, who, at the turn of the 2000s, alongside and often replacing the previous generation, quickly earned national and international esteem and respect.
These authors, thanks also to the support provided in those years by the newly formed Film Commission Torino Piemonte, rekindled, with quality and a desire to experiment with new aesthetics and themes, the spotlight on a collective ferment that, at that point, seemed destined for definitive professional consolidation.
This extensive exhibition, featuring the works of twenty or so directors, aims to open a critical discourse on that brief, intense, and unique creative period.
