Il cinema di Giovanni Coda per il mese del Pride

Cagliaritano, classe 1964, Giovanni Coda in 30 anni di attività si è distinto per uno sguardo autoriale personale e provocatorio che, cimentandosi con diverse forme d’arte tra cinema, teatro, fotografia e performance in Italia e all’estero, l’ha portato a comporre una filmografia contaminata e sensoriale, dal forte impegno sociale che incarna perfettamente gli ideali e gli obiettivi di Streeen.

Tre lungometraggi firmati dall’artista saranno visibili in tutto il mondo su streeen.org dall’11 giugno (on demand singolarmente a 2,8 euro oppure in abbonamento mensile a 6,50 euro): dal più recente Mark’s Diary, film del 2019 presentato in anteprima assoluta streaming su Streeen, ai precedenti Bullied To Death (2016) e Il Rosa Nudo (2013), tutti accomunati da un successo di critica e pubblico a livello internazionale e da una volontà di fare del cinema uno strumento di difesa/denuncia dei diritti violati, delle ingiustizie sociali, soprattutto quelle legate all’universo LGBT.

La personale di Coda che Streeen propone per il Pride Month include anche i cortometraggi Xavier (in visione gratuita) e Behind the scenes – Mark’s Diary (bonus track per tutti gli abbonati), oltre all’esclusiva del trailer del suo prossimo film Histoire d’Une Larme.

Born in Cagliari (Italy) in 1964, in the last 30 years of his career, Giovani Coda was able to stand out with a body of work that ranges from photography to theater to cinema. Often on the edge of different visual languages, he was able to create a recognizable and provocative aesthetics for his socially engaged films, that perfectly embody Streeen’s cultural mission.

From June 11th all the 3 feature films realised by Coda will be available on streeen.org (on demand 2,80 euros/film, monthly subscription 6,50 euros): Mark’s Diary, (2019) will have its worldwide streaming premiere along with Bullied To Death (2016) and Il Rosa Nudo (2013). Critically acclaimed internationally these three feature films transform the art of cinema in a powerful weapon to fight the inequalities and oppression the LGBTQIA community is still facing today.

The Coda retrospective proposed by Streeen also includes two shorts, Xavier (free streaming till June 30th), Behind the scenes – Mark’s Diary (special content for subscribers) and the trailer of his upcoming project Histoire d’Une Larme on the life and death of Piergiorgio Welby who fought for legal recognition of euthanasia.
